Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports is reporting that the Nets and Mavericks have swapped proposals to trade Vince Carter, Keyon Dooling, and Eduardo Najera to the Mavericks for Josh Howard and Jerry Stackhouse, but that the trade is not yet "imminent".
The Spurs have also discussed a proposal with the Nets that would send VC to the Spurs for Roger Mason, Bruce Bowen, and Fabricio Oberto. Trade rumors get taken with a bit of a grain of salt around here, considering a very small percentage of what we hear actually happens. But there's enough smoke to this that there might be fire, and it might actually benefit both players and both teams. VC would be given the green light from day one, and Howard would get the fresh start he needs, and both would be playing with their old point guards, Jason Kidd and Devin Harris.
