A-Rod & Steriods in MLB

2-18-09

As if this horse hasn't been beaten enough. I feel as if we at least owe it to you the other sports fans of Texas to state our opinion on this topic.

#1 A.Rod is guilty.

#2 A.Rod is not now, nor has he ever been remotely sorry that he used steriods. (In our opinion) I do not buy for one second that he was unaware what he was doing. How many over the counter ANYTHINGS can you think of that you have to inject? Not to mention, call me crazy but um....I'm not going out of country for an "energy boost." Oh wait I forgot A.Rod was getting poked by his cousin........wonder if it was Big Rod?

#3 A.Rod using steriods is disappointing. As fans of the game we would like to think someone of this era can put up numbers that are not chemically enhanced.

#4 A.Rod and other players are totally different from Mark McGwire. Why? While we may never know with 100% certainty, it is to the best of my understanding that the steriods that "Big Mac" took where legal steriods. A.Rod, and other more recent cases involve steriods that are ILLEGAL. I don't care if baseball doesn't ban them, does baseball have to ban crack cocaine to make it against the rules for a player to use it?

#5 The stats are tainted. Not saying he isn't good, not saying he shouldn't go to the HOF someday. What I am saying is that his stats are an unknown. We will never know exactly how good of a player A-Rod and other involved in this steriod scandal really are/were.

#6 No, Barry Bonds nor A-Rod nor any other recent player will ever be, in my mind, considered on the same level of the true greats like Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth. Put Bonds on the field, have him pitch a game and expect him to still hit HR's. Oh and don't forget he doesn't get a special bat, special weight training equipment, special this & special that. Strip everything away that helps make today's players so great, then send him out to play hung over and we will see how well good ole Barry really was.
